“Parental involvement is a more significant factor in a child’s academic performance than the qualities of the school itself”. -Dufur, Parcel, and Troutman (2012)

While staying fully involved in school events can be a challenge, there are also huge benefits. A major meta-analysis by the Harvard Family Research Project concluded that children with highly involved parents performed significantly better than their peers in overall educational outcomes, grades, and academic achievement.

Our amazing FoBIS (Friends of BIS) members encourage and support parental involvement in the school. From social projects to community-building events, to fundraising, FoBIS is the glue that holds our community of families together. FoBIS is a non-profit group open to any and all BIS family members.
